"Custom Car Wheels"

Custom car wheels offer you a wide range of possibilities. The term custom car wheels can mean two different things to different people. It can be used to mean simply aftermarket car wheels from manufacturers, and it can also mean sending in your wheels to a shop that does custom molding and essentially fabricates a completely custom wheel for you.

Aftermarket Car Wheels

Most people will go with a custom wheel from a manufacturer to replace their stock wheel to create a better look for their car, and possibly to reduce some weight. These wheels are widely available to anyone, however, due to the huge numbers of different types of rims, choosing one that will be unique to your car is not hard.

Creating or Molding your own Wheels

Some people may choose to go the route of getting a completely custom look by sending in their wheels to a shop to be specially molded to create a new look. There are few shops that offer this service as it is time consuming and difficult to do, requiring much skill. If you go this route, be prepared to spend a lot of money, and wait a long time to get your wheels back.

This is not like simply buying a new set of wheels, the shop is creating a new wheel just for you. It may often take 3 months or more to have the wheels back in your hands.

If you want to go through with this the key is to find a shop that has done it before and is very reputable. If they don't know what they are doing they can ruin your wheel in no time. Be sure to call many places and try to contact people who have used them before.

Going this route can be a challenge, but if you go through with it you will have a look that not a single other person has.
